With Love
It's been just over a year now that one of my dearest friends moved to Las Vegas and got married to the most wonderful man! They really are a beautiful couple and I wish them all the happiness in the world! Even though I haven't met her partner, I can say that he is a very kind, generous guy who will take good care of my best friend and love her more as every day passes! (otherwise some serious butt kicking is in order ^^.)
It has been very hard to not have her here by my side. I remember the first time I met her, at work, I thought she was the cutest living lil china doll ever!! Although we talked and got along very well at work we never really got that close! It was after I left work that we formed our real friendship, and soon after that Emyli left for Vegas! It might sound weird to some but even though we didn't spend a lot of time together, there was a bond between us that was very strong. We are very similar, both Cancerians, have a passion for beauty and fashion, we are both very very loving and generous people, both of us are artistic, both like Kpop (anyone who knows me knows how much of a role this plays in my life), both try and remain positive in dire situations, I mean the list can go on and on and on.
When she first moved to America, we would speak on the phone everyday and message as much as we could, sadly as time has gone on, due to time difference, both of us being extremely busy, we don't get to speak to each other as much as we used to, but we never let more than a couple of days get in between. Although she is in America she has remained my rock! LITERALLY! She provides the most wonderful advice, and at times when fear has gotten the better of me, she has managed to take that fear away and put reason in my head! As much as I would like to say I have my head screwed on to my shoulders I do get a little ditsy and childlike and it's good to have that one person to be able to say "as much as you are having fun, and I am happy for you, I don't have a good feeling about this! Re-think it!"
Aside from emotional support, she has always helped me in my work! Providing me with inspiration and motivation, constantly reading and re-reading my written work and believing in what I do and what I can achieve!
I feel so fortunate that I have met someone so honest and true, and all I can do is hope that I can give her the same support and love she gives me!
Today I received my Christmas package from America (We never forget to buy something small for each others birthdays & special occasions) and I was at my families factory working on men's tailored jackets when it had arrived at home. My sister sent me a text with the image of the parcel attached to the message; "your package has arrived, I'm going to open it :p". Of course I know my sister wouldn't do such a thing but I wasn't taking any chances so got my future brother in-law who happened to be passing by my work place to drop it off to me!
I love giving presents more than receiving, as I had mentioned in my Christmas blog, but you know I can't lie and say I don't like receiving any presents! I mean everybody loves a small token from someone special, be it best friend, husband, boyfriend, mum, dad etc. I don't expect a lot from people other than respect, loyalty, time and love (honestly) so I am very humble and thankful for when I do receive a present from someone!
When I tore the package, I was very excited to see what Emyli had chosen for me! Inside was a circular shaped gift wrapped box! Removing all packaging, and seeing what it was that she had chosen for me, my jaw had dropped! I am very serious when I say I actually had tears in my eyes! - lame I know, but honestly.
There are some who do and some that don't know, but there are certain things in life that I want to experience not from buying it for myself or doing it myself but I want someone to think of me and let me experience that small thing, be it from going Winter Wonderland, or going to central London to see the Christmas lights and Harrods windows.... I am a hopeless romantic, so I do have small wishes as these.
One of those things I wanted to experience was receiving a charm bracelet, with a meaningful charm attached to it (I know this sounds superficial and silly but its one of the few meaningful things I would like to receive, than buy for myself!) Since Emyli has a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet, and I have bought her a few charms (the Turkish eye, Fleur de lis and an angels wing), all signifying something special, she bought me my own Thomas Sabo bracelet and a charm to start of my first collection! This for me is wonderful as now we can send each other meaningful charms that we can wear and will remind us of each other all the time!
I don't think I have ever mentioned how I felt about charm bracelets before to her, so when I received one I was so happy! I don't know how she will top off her next present :P I joke!
I am honestly very and extremely blessed to have someone who knows me so well that I don't need to explain myself! Sometimes she knows how I am feeling or if something is on my mind from across the globe! She is an angel!
Yes! I call her my 'wife' or 'wifey' because if I were a boy I'd so have married that ass! - lucky for you Charlie I'm not a boy! hahahahahahaha
I was watching Bridal Wars last night and the end quote pretty much sums up everything I have said above:

"Sometimes in life there really are bonds formed that can never be broken. Sometimes you really can find that one person who will stand by you no matter what. Maybe you will find it in a spouse and celebrate it with your dream wedding. But there's also the chance that the one person you can count on for a lifetime, the one person who knows you sometimes better than you know yourself is the same person who's been standing beside you all along. "
My Thomas Sabo Charm from my wife <3 Thank you <3 |
